Since 1951, Styropor^® and later the graphite-containing development Neopor^® have been an important component of countless applications in the construction and packaging sector. The foams made of it are an important part of our everyday lives.

While Neopor^® insulation products make a significant contribution to achieving the global targets for avoiding CO₂ emissions in the building sector, Styropor^® packaging protects our food from heat and cold exposure, as well as electrical appliances, from annoying transport damages - and, it can also be recycled very well, whether mechanically or chemically.

Since BASF was granted the first patent for the expandable polystyrene Styropor^® 70 years ago, we have achieved a great deal together with our customers and are well positioned for future challenges.
